The lesser known tourist areas of El Medano, Costa Del Silencio and Los Gigantes and the new up and coming areas like Callao Salvaje, Bahia del Duque and Costa Caleta are best for first time property investors as they offer many of the benefits of the main tourist area without the high costs.
The real property bargains remain in the areas that have not being touched too heavily by tourism such as Adeje, Aldea Blanca, San Miguel and San Isidro and these areas are ideal if you are planning to move to Tenerife permanently as your money will go a lot further. These areas however are predominantly Spanish and although the locals are more than welcoming a good phrase book or a command of Spanish is recommended.
